Happy Spring!

Happy Spring everyone! I can't believe it's been that long since I last blogged. I'm such a bad blogger aren't I?

Thank you Joe for prodding me along to blog. I seem to get into my 'Happy Place' and forget to do a lot of things....blogging to name one of them! BUT! I'm happy to report that I do have a couple of finished projects to blog about and I'm really proud of both. Very much so because they are knitted wearables! :) I truly never thought I would get this far advanced in my knitting abilities. And I can't say that it's all been a bed of roses because it has not. I've had a lot of struggles because I'm self-taught and half the time I have not a clue as to what I'm doing. So needless to say I have to watch a lot of YouTube videos to get me through. Cause as I've mentioned many of times, I'm a visual learner.

Until next time, I hope everyone has a fantastic Spring and may you have many MANY F.O.'s!

Sock Monkey Blanket

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope everyone had a great time with their friends and family! I have so much to be Thankful for and thank the Lord every day for them too. I am very thankful that he has given me the gift to be able to Knit and Crochet. Without these skills I would be very VERY bored! :)

So, after 6 months of working on this blanket for Levi (A handicapped boy at my Church) it's finally done! This blanket wasn't hard at all, it just took forever because I bore easily and the "Body" of the blanket was very monotonous! Nevertheless, I've very happy it's done!

'Super Sized' Santa Boot

Hello fellow crafters! I see it's been a while since I have last posted any finished projects. But not to worry, I've been busy! Things are just not getting finished as fast as I would like them to be.

The Holidays are upon us and I know everyone is busy with their Hooks and Needles making those gifts for friends and loved ones. I myself have been a little selfish and have only made something for ME. :) hehehehehe. Well, that's not quite true. I have made 2 more Sunny Day Mobile's for 2 ladies at my Church who are expecting.

But now, I wanted to share my latest finished project. It is my SUPER SIZED Santa Boot from the current issue of Crochet Today. I did not have the recommended Sport Weight yarn so I used WW and the recommended size I hook and this is what I got. It measures 22" tall from the tip of the toe to the top of the cuff. I think it's adorable and looks fantastic on my front door! But I definitely want to make a smaller one with the appropriate yarn size. I fell in love with this immediately after seeing it in the magazine. I have made several patterns from this same Designer and I've loved them all. She's very talented and constructs projects in a very unique way. This is the 3rd project ever using short row shaping. And I love the results.

Cthulu Dice Bag

Hi everybody! Hope everyone has had a great crafty week! I just finished another Knitted project for a Facebook friend called the Cthulu Dice Bag. This was a special request and I was really nervous. I have NEVER done stranded knitting before. I think it turned out pretty well considering?! I'm pretty proud of it actually. I feel like I can tackle more patterns of this variety now. I wasn't so sure at the beginning if it would ever get completed but once I got started and made myself focus and kept chanting, I THINK I CAN, I THINK I CAN.........well, you get the picture. ;-)

I would like to try hats next with this technique but I'm not sure yet on what other design I would even like. Ferrets maybe? We'll see.

Oh, and another thing. I didn't hand-knit the I-cord drawstring. As I can see that taking me 50 years to complete, I used the "Cool Corder" machine that I've had for many years now. It's a Gem!!! It took me all of 3 minutes?! AWESOME-NESS!

Hello Kitty....

TGIF peeps! Well, almost. It's still Thursday night here in my world. I just wanted to share a quick project with everyone. And, it's NOT a Crochet or Knitting project. This time it is a Sewing project. Yes. You heard correctly. S-E-W-I-N-G. I know, I know. Unheard of for me. Considering I'm really not that good at it. But I just couldn't help myself. I found THE CUTEST little coin purse named the Zip-Itself Tetrahedron Coin Purse.

It is awesome. It only requires 2 things to make it. 1. A zipper 2. Ribbon.

Now, how easy is that? Apparently, not so much. For me at least. I had a really hard time with the tutorial but it all worked out in the end. I figured it out! It's not the best looking in the world and it's certainly not perfectly shaped but for a 1st run at it, I think it turned out pretty good. But I need to line the inside. But, that'll be another time. I am going to be making more of these for my nieces. So we'll see if they start to look any better.

So if your interested in the free pattern. Go here: Zip-Iteself Tetrahedron Coin Purse. But for now, here is my creation using Hello Kitty ribbon:
